Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. This page explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Introduction

Welcome to Countdown. We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding the collection, use, and protection of your information when you use our mobile application, Countdown, available on Google Play and the App Store.

By using Countdown, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use our application. We take your privacy seriously and strive to ensure that your personal information is protected.

Information We Collect

Countdown does not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your personal data on our own servers. Your countdowns, notes, reminders and settings are stored locally on your device and never transmitted to us. Photos you choose as a countdown background are copied into the app's own storage on your device: Countdown asks for camera or photo access only when you choose to add a photo, and asks to add to your photos only when you tap Save image on a share card. You can turn that access off at any time in your device settings. Home-screen and lock-screen widgets read your countdowns from storage on your device that only Countdown and its widgets can open. Public holidays come with the app. Countdown shows ads through Google AdMob, which collects some data directly from the app in order to show ads, and in-app purchases are handled by the app stores, as described below.

How We Use Your Information

We do not receive your personal data, so there is no information for us to use or process. Countdowns, widgets and reminders work entirely on your device; reminders are scheduled locally by your device. An internet connection is used only for ads and in-app purchases. Share cards and backups are files you choose to share or save yourself.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell or share your personal data ourselves. Advertising: to serve, measure and personalize ads and to prevent fraud, Google AdMob and its mediation partners Unity Ads, ironSource (Unity LevelPlay) and Liftoff (Vungle) collect data from your device, including your device advertising identifier, your IP address (from which an approximate location may be derived), your interactions with the app and its ads, and diagnostic information; this data is encrypted in transit. Ads may be personalized only as your choices allow: where your region requires consent (for example the EEA, the UK and Switzerland) you are asked first, and where privacy laws give you a choice you can change it at any time from “Ad privacy options” in the app's Settings. On iPhone and iPad, Countdown does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission and does not track you: ads there are not personalized. Every ad in Countdown is limited to content suitable for general audiences, and Countdown Pro removes ads. You can reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device settings. See the privacy policies of Google (https://policies.google.com/privacy), Unity Ads and ironSource (https://unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy) and Liftoff (https://liftoff.ai/privacy-policy/), and how Google uses information from apps that use its services (https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites). Purchases: payments for Countdown Pro are processed by Google Play or the App Store; on iOS, purchase status is verified through RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app identifier and your purchase records (https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy). Your countdowns stay on your device.

Security of Your Information

The security of your data is of utmost importance to us. Your countdowns are stored locally on your device, and data sent to our advertising and purchase partners is encrypted in transit. We are committed to maintaining a secure environment for all users.

Retention of Your Information

We do not retain any personal information on our own servers. All application data is stored locally on your device and can be deleted at any time in the app or by uninstalling the application. Data collected by Google AdMob, its mediation partners and RevenueCat is retained according to their privacy policies.

Children's Privacy

Our application is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so that we can take steps to remove such information.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
