Privacy Policy

Echo does not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your personal data on our own servers. Your recordings, transcripts, markers, notes, folders, tags and settings are stored locally on your device and never transmitted to us. Echo uses the microphone only while you record. Echo shows ads through Google AdMob, which collects some data directly from the app in order to show ads, and in-app purchases are handled by the app stores, as described below.

We do not receive your personal data, so there is no information for us to use or process. Recording, editing, search and playback work entirely on your device. On iPhone, transcription uses Apple's on-device speech recognition, so your audio is not sent to Apple or to us; transcription is not available on Android. An internet connection is used only for ads and in-app purchases. Exports, shares and backups are files you create and send yourself, to the apps or people you choose.

We do not sell or share your personal data ourselves. Advertising: to serve, measure and personalize ads and to prevent fraud, Google AdMob and its mediation partners Unity Ads, ironSource (Unity LevelPlay) and Liftoff (Vungle) collect data from your device, including your device advertising identifier, your IP address (from which an approximate location may be derived), your interactions with the app and its ads, and diagnostic information; this data is encrypted in transit. Ads may be personalized only as your choices allow: where your region requires consent (for example the EEA, the UK and Switzerland) you are asked first, and in US states with privacy laws you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your data; you can change these choices at any time from the privacy options in the app's Settings. On iOS, after any consent form, Echo asks for App Tracking Transparency permission: your advertising identifier is used only if you allow tracking, otherwise ads are not personalized, and you can change this at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. You can reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device settings. Purchases: payments for Echo Pro are processed by Google Play or the App Store; on iOS, purchase status is verified through RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app identifier and your purchase records (https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy). Your recordings and transcripts stay on your device.

Your recordings and transcripts are stored locally on your device, protected by your device's own security, and data sent to our advertising and purchase partners is encrypted in transit.

We do not retain any personal information on our own servers. All application data, including your audio files and transcripts, is stored locally on your device and can be deleted at any time in the app or by uninstalling the application. Data collected by Google AdMob and RevenueCat is retained according to their privacy policies.

Our application is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so that we can take steps to remove such information.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
