Privacy Policy - Money Manager: AI Budget

Your privacy matters. This page explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Welcome to Money Manager: AI Budget. We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, how it is protected, and the choices you have, when you use our mobile application available on Google Play and the App Store.

The app is designed so that your financial records stay private by default. You can use it fully without an account, and the optional features that do use the internet are built so that we cannot read your financial data even when it passes through our servers.

By using Money Manager: AI Budget, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use our application.

Your financial records stay on your device. Transactions, budgets, accounts, assets, debts, goals, categories, labels and notes are stored locally on your device. No account is required to use the app, and if you never enable the optional features below, this information never leaves your phone.

If you sign in for cloud sync, we store your email address and an account identifier so your devices can find each other, together with your encrypted data. See the Cloud Sync section for what "encrypted" means here.

If you use the AI Copilot, the question you type and a summary of the figures needed to answer it are sent to our server and on to our AI provider. See the AI Copilot section for exactly what is included.

Cloud sync is optional and off until you turn it on. When it is enabled, your data is encrypted on your device, before it is uploaded. The key that unlocks it is derived from a recovery passphrase that only you know and that we never receive.

This means we store your records as unreadable ciphertext. We cannot see your balances, transaction names, notes or any other content, and neither can anyone who obtained a copy of our database. It also means that if you lose your recovery passphrase we cannot recover your data — there is no back door for us to use on your behalf.

Sync is provided using Supabase, which hosts the encrypted storage on our behalf. Sign-in is handled by Google Sign-In; we receive your email address and a user identifier, not your Google password.

The AI Copilot is optional. It is only used when you open it and ask something.

What is sent: the message you write, and a compact summary of the figures needed to answer it — for example totals for the current cycle, budget names and amounts, account balances, or recent transaction rows when you ask about specific spending. This summary is prepared on your device.

What is not sent: your recovery passphrase, your encryption keys, your receipt photos, and your private notes, unless a question you ask specifically requires the relevant records.

Requests pass through our own server, which adds no personal information beyond the account identifier used to count your monthly allowance, and are then sent to our AI provider. We instruct the provider not to retain or train on this content. We keep a record of the date, the feature used and the size of each request so we can operate the monthly allowance; we do not keep the content of your conversations on our servers. Conversation history shown inside the app is stored on your device only.

The Copilot explains your own numbers. It is not a licensed financial adviser, and its suggestions are not financial advice. It never changes your data on its own: anything it proposes is shown to you first and only applied when you confirm.

The free version of Money Manager: AI Budget displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob to support free access to the app. Google AdMob may collect certain non-personal, aggregated data such as device type, approximate location and advertising identifiers to serve relevant ads. This data is handled by Google in accordance with their privacy policy. We do not have access to or control over the data collected by AdMob. Subscribing to the paid plan removes all advertising.

Subscriptions are processed by Apple and Google. We never see or store your payment card details. To know whether your subscription is active, we receive a purchase event from RevenueCat, our subscription management provider, containing the product purchased, its status and an identifier linking it to your account. That record is what unlocks cloud sync and the AI Copilot for you.

We use the limited information described above only to make the app work: to sign you in, to store and deliver your encrypted data between your own devices, to answer the questions you ask the AI Copilot, to count your monthly AI allowance fairly, and to confirm whether your subscription is active. We do not sell your information, we do not build advertising profiles from your financial records, and we do not use your financial data to train AI models.

We share information only with the service providers required to run these features: Supabase (encrypted storage and sign-in), our AI provider (Copilot requests), RevenueCat (subscription status), and Google AdMob (advertising in the free version). Each acts under its own privacy policy. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone, and we do not share your financial records with advertisers.

Data on your device is stored in the app's private storage. Data uploaded for cloud sync is encrypted on your device before it leaves, and is transmitted over encrypted connections. Access to synced data is restricted to your own account at the database level. While no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, end-to-end encryption means that even a breach of our storage would not reveal the contents of your records.

Data stored on your device remains there until you delete it in the app or uninstall the application. If you use cloud sync, your encrypted data is retained while your account exists. You can delete your account and its synced data from within the app, in Settings, which removes it from our servers. Operational records used for the AI allowance are kept for a limited period and then aggregated into anonymous totals.

You can use the entire core app without an account. You can turn cloud sync on or off, choose never to use the AI Copilot, export a full copy of your data at any time from Settings, and delete your account and synced data from within the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct or object to the processing of your personal information; contact us and we will help.

Money Manager: AI Budget is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided personal data through the app, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal and regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. Changes are effective when posted. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
