Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. This page explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Introduction

Welcome to Shopping List. We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding the collection, use, and protection of your information when you use our mobile application, Shopping List (listed as "Shopping List: Grocery Planner" on Google Play and "Grocery List: Cart & Pantry" on the App Store).

By using Shopping List, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use our application. We take your privacy seriously and strive to ensure that your personal information is protected.

Information We Collect

Shopping List does not collect personal data on any server, and it has no account or sign-up. Your shopping lists, items, prices, pantry, recurring items, templates and statistics are stored only on your device, and every list feature works offline. The app uses the internet only for ads (see Advertising), for the optional Pro purchase (see Purchases), and for things you choose to open, such as the store page when you rate the app. (Versions before 1.2.0 also downloaded the app's font, Inter, from Google Fonts on first launch; like any web request, that shares your IP address with Google. From 1.2.0 the font is built into the app.)

How We Use Your Information

Since we do not collect any user data, there is no personal information for us to use or process. Your lists and pantry stay on your device and are used only to power the features inside the app, such as running totals, budgets, templates and statistics.

Sharing Your Information

We do not share any of your lists or pantry data with third parties, because we do not collect it. A list leaves your device only when you share it yourself through your phone's share sheet. The advertising identifiers described below are handled by Google AdMob and its mediation partners, never linked by us to your lists.

Advertising

Shopping List is free and supported by ads served through Google AdMob and its mediation partners Unity Ads, ironSource (Unity LevelPlay) and Liftoff (Vungle), including an optional rewarded video that plays only when you tap to unlock more saved templates. To show ads, these companies may access a device advertising identifier and limited technical information (such as device model, operating system and approximate location derived from your IP address). The optional Pro purchase removes all ads.

Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and some US states), Shopping List asks for your consent through Google's consent form before ads are requested, and Settings › Ad privacy options lets you change that choice at any time. Ads may be personalised only as the choice you make allows. On iPhone and iPad, Shopping List does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission and does not track you: ads there are not personalised.

Learn more in the privacy policies of Google (https://policies.google.com/privacy), Unity Ads and ironSource (https://unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy) and Liftoff (https://liftoff.ai/privacy-policy/). You can also reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings.

Purchases

Shopping List Pro is an optional one-time purchase that removes all ads and lets you save any number of templates. The store processes the payment, and Shopping List never sees your payment details.

On Android, the purchase goes through Google Play Billing; the app stores only whether Pro is unlocked, and you can restore it with your Google Play account. On iPhone and iPad, the app connects to our purchase partner RevenueCat when it starts, to load the price and check for a purchase, and RevenueCat verifies the App Store purchase. It does so under an anonymous ID the app creates, with no account and nothing that identifies you. RevenueCat receives your purchase history for this app (not linked to your identity and not used for tracking) so Pro can be restored; see the RevenueCat privacy policy (https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy).

Photos and Files

The photo library is used only when you choose a photo for a pantry item; the photo is copied into the app's storage on your device and never uploaded. Backups you export are files you control and store wherever you choose; restoring reads only the file you pick.

Security of Your Information

Your lists are stored locally on your device using your operating system's standard app storage, protected by your device's own security.

Retention of Your Information

Since we do not collect any user data, we do not retain any personal information on external servers. All application data is stored locally on your device and can be deleted at any time by deleting lists and pantry items in the app or uninstalling the application.

Children's Privacy

Our application is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so that we can take appropriate steps.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
