Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. This page explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Introduction

Welcome to Sprout. We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding the collection, use, and protection of your information when you use our mobile application, Sprout, available on the App Store and Google Play.

By using Sprout, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use our application. We take your privacy seriously and strive to ensure that your personal information is protected.

Information We Collect

Sprout does not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your personal data on our own servers. Your plants, care schedules, history, photos and settings are stored locally on your device and never transmitted to us. If you add a photo, Sprout uses the camera or your photo library only for that, and the picture stays on your device. Care reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. Sprout shows ads through Google AdMob, which collects some data directly from the app, as described below.

Advertising

To serve, measure and personalize ads and to prevent fraud, Google AdMob and its mediation partners Unity Ads, ironSource (Unity LevelPlay) and Liftoff (Vungle) collect data from your device, including your device advertising identifier, your IP address (from which an approximate location may be derived), your interactions with the app and its ads, and diagnostic information; this data is encrypted in transit. Ads may be personalized only as your choices allow: where your region requires consent (for example the EEA, the UK and Switzerland) you are asked first, and in US states with privacy laws you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your data; you can change these choices from the privacy options in the app's Settings. On iOS, after any consent form, Sprout asks for App Tracking Transparency permission: your advertising identifier is used only if you allow tracking, otherwise ads are not personalized, and you can change this at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. Opening Sprout from a care reminder never shows an ad. You can reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device settings. See the privacy policies of Google (https://policies.google.com/privacy), Unity Ads and ironSource (https://unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy) and Liftoff (https://liftoff.ai/privacy-policy/), and how Google uses information from apps that use its services (https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).

Purchases and Reviews

On Android, payments for Sprout Pro are processed by Google Play; we do not receive your payment details. When the app asks for a rating, it uses the store's own review prompt, handled by Google or Apple.

How We Use and Share Your Information

We do not receive your personal data, so there is no information for us to use, sell or share. If you send us feedback by email from the app, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply to you. Backups are files you create and keep yourself.

Security of Your Information

Your plants and photos are stored locally on your device, protected by your device's own security, and data sent to our advertising partner is encrypted in transit.

Retention of Your Information

We do not retain any personal information on our own servers, except feedback emails you send us, which we keep only as long as needed to answer them. All application data is stored locally on your device and can be deleted at any time in the app or by uninstalling the application. Data collected by Google AdMob is retained according to Google's privacy policy.

Children's Privacy

Our application is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so that we can take steps to remove such information.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal and regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. Changes are effective when posted. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
